He sent His Word, His holy Word,
And grieving hearts were healed;
Uplifted they beheld in light
Man’s heritage revealed;

Of Truth, forever one,
And sons of men rejoice to know
The dream of sorrow done;

And hosts who toil in vain
Reject the falsehood ages taught
